A 66-year-old Macon man was killed Monday afternoon when the car he was driving veered off Northside Drive and crashed into a tree, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said.
The victim, Jackie E. Polk, had been traveling south when his car swerved across the road’s northbound lanes and wrecked in a stretch of Northside Drive between Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard and Riverside Drive.
Polk, a California native, had ties to Virginia and North Carolina.
